Rosy is finished!

Due to a very long spell of illness (swine flu among the list), as well as a backlog of things I have been trying to get done, I have finally finished Rosy. Maybe not the best photo I couldve taken but as its constantly overcast here due to lousy Winter weather and automatic flashing on the camera that I cant disable, I get shadows galore, whiteout or both. So, this photo will have to do Im afraid, as awful as it is. lol She's looking like she has a beehive hairdo but half of that is shadowing. I am so pleased and relieved too that she is complete and ready to be sent. I hope my friend will like her because with the length of time its taken to see her come to life, I am rather loathe to see her go but one thing is for sure, I shant make another for a long time! lol When I do get round to another one, might make it a boy...Brother maybe?

The little knitted outfit isnt one I made, this was bought on Ebay, the home of avid spenders like myself....that place is a magnet and is not good for the purse as we all now know. lol It came with a bonnet that has knitted lace woven into it but I didnt like it so left it off and gave her a silk ribbon band instead....much better.

Rosy says "...see you real soon, my new Mummy!".

NEW SCULPT - panic Xmas pressie!

This wasnt what I intended to make for my dear friend in Lancashire for this Xmas, I had planned on something else but as she loves baby dolls, thought I'd make her one. She has come out looking slightly oriental and Im debating whether to dress her kimino style or to just go nuts on something crochetted for her, cant quite decide yet. As you can see, she isnt blushed yet and has no hair....should she be black or brown haired? Maybe brown, what do you think I should go with?

The best bit is the sculpting of the head, but Ive to tackle the limbs yet which I hope to get made later today. I shall upload a photo of her when she is fully assembled and dressed....ooooo Sandra, I hope you will like her?

I think she will come out to around 10-12 inches, I wont know for sure until assembly. Watch this space!

NEW PAPER DOLL!

Hi all, I received a gorgeous paper doll in the post this morning. She was made for me by Nancy Dooren and I was so pleased to receive her. She came with two ATCs aswell which I didnt expect so a lovely surprise. I loved the stamps she used for her. Thank you Nancy, she is wonderful!!!! The swap was a Marie Antoinette Angel or Fairy paper doll and mine was sent to Nancy. I hope we get partnered again sometime.

MINIATURE JOURNAL PAGES uploaded

Im so sorry for the delay in getting to show you the pages for my journal but it took some time for the last one to come and must say, it was well worth the wait. My pages are now complete and arent they all gorgeous! I went with the theme of Treasure Island/pirates and all the girls made a marvellous job of each of the pages. Directly below are the backs of each page. These pages below are the fronts. I love each one and I cant wait to organise another mini swap, it was such alot of fun and I loved everyone's interpretation of my theme. The girls all went with different themes, they were dogs/cats, childhood, Tim Holt past times, winged time, birds and lastly beach/seashore.
Thank you to Valerie Brinchest, Suze Urquhart, Sandra Zengler, Diana O'Cobhthaigh, Joni Owens and Ali Brandist for your wonderful works of art, I love them all.

SPELL BOOK FINISHED!

Finally, this book is now finished barring just another 30 or so spell pages to finish off but at least the majority of them are now done and the book cover itself is made. So far Ive had to age well over 200 sides!!!!! I stitched out the design in the centre of the front panel, designing it myself and my very first attempt at digitizing so feeling pretty pleased with myself for conquering it. While I was on a roll I also got digitizing some fairy wings...cant wait to stitch those out. Will show you when/if I get to do them.

The book cover itself is boarded and the front and back panels are a fabric paper I made and the spine, hinges and book corners are all fabric too and studded. I used a book lock I purchased from Alphastamps and it made a nice finishing touch I thought. The fuzzy bit on the right side is a cord I made with a spike for the book lock and it has a wicked bead on the top that looks like bone. I wish I could remember where or who gave me them as Id love some more. The fuzzy cord is trimmed with some coloured jingles. This is the spine of the book and originally it was centered in the space its is but as I had to make an adjustment along the way, its ended up off centre but Im telling myself its ok.
The only things that havent been made by me is the ironmongery....there's a limit to what I can do you know! lol
Time now to go offer these photos to the person who's having this, fingers crossed they like it and Im kind of hoping they wont as I wouldnt mind keeping this myself! lol
